Making our models!
Pouring bone china into a horse body mould. A horse and jockey is made
up from 16 separate moulds.
Fine detail can be added into a bone china figure during assembly.
Before a model can be placed in a kiln for the first of its firings, a bone
china scaffolding needs to be carefully assembled around the sculpture to support it, preventing the legs from bending.
The painter hand paints five different coats of paint; each fired separately,
starting with light shades and building to darker tones to achieve the lifelike appearance of the horse's coat.
Each horse is finally completed with leather accessories, an oak base and
engraved
